APROPOS the editorial ‘Buzdar uncertainty’ (Nov 26). The question that arises is: has Buzdar really failed? The answer might be a no. The incumbent chief minister may not be as eloquent as his predecessor but running a province that is larger than 57 countries of the world is no simple task.
Be it infrastructure developments in south Punjab or near completion of the Orange Bus line, Punjab is on the road towards progress. The Rural Accessibility Programme Punjab costing Rs12,500 million,Umbrella Programme for Uplift and Connectivity of Roads in Punjab (Rs1,000 million) and Punjab Arterial Roads Improvement Programme (Rs500 million) attest to this fact.
The projects in progress in the energy sector like Renewable Energy Development Sector Investment Programme (REDSIP) at Rs1,819 million and Khadim-i-Punjab Ujala Programme (Southern Punjab) at Rs609 million are in the pipeline. Their completion besides improved governance in the province will strengthen Buzdar’s hands.
