ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has received less than half of the total development funds allocated by the government for the current fiscal year, a well-informed source from the Authority told Dawn.

The source said the government had released Rs493.342 million to the Authority against the total allocation of Rs963.762 million.

The government, the source said, had already slashed the CDA’s development and maintenance funds in the current year. The total government allocation for development and maintenance works this year is Rs722.162 million and Rs241.6 million, respectively. Whereas, in the previous years, this amount used to be more than Rs1.1 billion.

Talking to Dawn, a senior Authority official termed these allocations insufficient to meet requirement.
