QUETTA: Balochistan Governor retired Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has advised young students to pay proper attention to acquisition of education, saying future of the province is associated with them.

While talking to a delegation of students from different schools of the Quetta city during their visit to Governor House on Friday, Mr Yasinzai said many children in Pakistan were deprived of educational facilities. He said 70 per cent girls dropped out of school in Balochistan. “Female literacy in Balochistan is one of the lowest in the world, as most girls are not allowed [by their families] to acquire education,” he observed.

“Balochistan’s literacy rate is 37pc, which is much below that of the other three provinces of Pakistan, as well as its national average of 53pc,” the governor said.

He told the students that they had tremendous opportunities for getting information in the modern world that was not available as easily in the past. By a single click on internet, information and details about everything was accessible very easily, he added.

The delegation was headed by office-bearers of Voice of Balochistan.

Later, students visited different sections of Governor House and expressed keen interests in the historical building.
