BAHAWALNAGAR: A young man suffered serious burns when two brothers allegedly set him ablaze over old enmity on Sunday.

According to SHO Mushtaq Bajwa of Maroot police, Kashif (25), a resident of 303/HR village, was asleep in his house in the wee hours when the brothers – Yaseen and Ramzan – barged in.

The suspects allegedly sprinkled kerosene on Kashif, set him on fire and locked him in a room. After that they fled the scene.

According to locals, Kashif who suffered serious burns was rescued by neighbours after they heard his cries.

He was rushed to hospital, where the doctors referred him to the burns unit of the Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur.
