THE WEEK THAT WAS

Thora Sa Haq | ARY, Wednesdays 8.00pm

Ayeza Khan and Imran Abbas are an intriguing lead pair but the intrigue ends right here in this soppy story of cousins Sehr and Zaamin who hardly know each other but secretly get married in a ridiculous do-or-die situation when Sehr’s groom doesn’t show up. This, despite Zaamin being already engaged to another cousin Hareem (Mashal Khan).

They all live in the same house and Sehr, Zaamin and his father Waqar (Behroze Sabzwari) share the big secret. Saba Faisal as Bhabi Jaan (who desperately needs to get a life) is the tyrant in the family and treats Sehr like a maidservant because Sehr’s late father did some unforgettably bad things to Bhabi Jaan in the past. Hareem tells Sehr how much she loves Zaamin while a hurt Sehr mopes around. Twisted as a pretzel but pretty bland and boring until Hareem finds out about Zaamin’s secret marriage to Sehr.

What To Watch Out For

Mehboob Apke Qadmon Mein | Hum TV, Fridays 9.10pm

With a quirky title and an intriguing title photo, MAQM is about Shazia (Sukayna Khan) the bhabi who likes her devar Arsim (Saad Qureshi), but no one knows that except her close family. She always liked Arsim but gets married under duress to his elder brother Sarim (Agha Mustafa). Desperate to get Arsim, she resorts to black magic through an evil perpetrator (Syed Qamar Reza Rizvi), and the dark spell has started to work! Not only do Arsim and his girlfriend Sunaina (Zubab Rana) have a motorcycle accident, Sunaina also has creepy things happening in her room, while Arsim is becoming increasingly affectionate towards Shazia. Newcomer Sukayna Khan is getting better and better at her evil roles.
