Fourteen people, including women, were sitting on the 15 acre disputed land at Challar Village when armed men reached there and shot Sonia Bibi dead on the spot and injured Asia, Shahnaz and Nazir Ahmad.

It is the second incident of murder of a woman in Cantonment area, following a dispute over property during the last three days.

Earlier, a woman, Alia Bibi (50), was allegedly shot dead while her sister was injured by armed men in the Manawan area on Thursday in the presence of the police. Sonia was the second woman murdered in presence of the police, sources said.

A police official said the Christian families were occupying the land whose ownership was claimed by the men of Kamboh group. He said police had shifted body to the morgue for autopsy and lodged a case against the alleged killers.
