KARACHI, Aug 9: Two ships carrying containers and chemicals berthed at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday. Berth occupancy stood 56 per cent as six ships, Maersk Alaska, Villed-De Mars, Mexico, Precious, Kourion and Anette Kosan, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, crude oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 45,521 tons comprising 26,601 tons of import cargo and 18,920 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailing was brisk as Mexico, P&O Nedlloyd Los Angeles, Maersk Alaska, Anette Kosan and Kourion left the port while Ville-De Mars was due to depart.

Four ships, P&O Nedlloyd Cobra, Gallant Wave, Keefan and Chemstar Brave, were expected to reach the port on Wednesday.
