MUZAFFARABAD: Jammu Martyrs Day was observed today [Nov 6] all over Azad Kashmir in memory of thousands of men, women and children who were massacred by rabid Hindu communal organisations and gangsters in Jammu Province on Nov 5 and Quran Khwani was held in mosques by political parties and the general public for the martyrs.

In Muzaffarabad, a big procession was taken out and a public meeting was held by all parties at which homage was paid to them. The meeting also expressed grave concern over the worsening situation in Occupied Kashmir and growing highhandedness of the Indian Army and police. It reaffirmed the people’s determination to continue their struggle for the liberation of Occupied Kashmir.

Several speakers strongly condemned the persecution of freedom fighters by the Indian authorities and assured them that their brethren on this side would lend support in their fight “against colonial domination of India”.

They said that Jammu martyrs had written the history of freedom with their blood and their sacrifices would continue to inspire the freedom fighters on both sides of cease-fire line in their struggle.
