KARACHI, Aug 8: President of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Prof Shah Faridul Haq has said that the rulers have adopted ‘enlightened and moderate Islam’ after being constrained by the West and are now trying to pave the way for the dominance of Western culture in the country in the name of enlightenment.
“But the holy Quran declares in clear terms that ultimately Islam will prevail,” he said while speaking at the Noorani Workers Convention organized by the JUP’s Karachi chapter at Khaliqdina Hall.
Faridul Haq, who is also Vice-President of the MMA, hoped that Karachiites, who as always loved Islam and the ideology of Pakistan, would not let the city become a den of terrorists and extortionists again.—PPI
