KARACHI, Jan 15: The Sindh High Court put off on Tuesday till Jan 25 the hearing of the bail applications filed by activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Ajmal alias Pahari and Ahmed Saeed, allegedly involved in two bomb blast cases in Karachi in 1998.
The applicants’ counsel, Khwaja Naveed Ahmed, submitted before a division bench, comprising Justice Ghulam Nabi Soomro and Justice Ataur Rahman, that his clients were not involved in the crime and police implicated them in a false case due to their political affiliation.
The applicants moved the High Court against the rejection of their bail applications by the trial court. They sought bail on the ground of statutory delay of trial, as the case has not yet been proceeded.—PPI
