‘Don’t be a fool’

PRESIDENT Donald Trump told his Turkish counterpart in an unusually undiplomatic letter last week that sanctions could destroy his economy and that the world “will look upon you forever as the devil if good things don’t happen. Don’t be a tough guy. Don’t be a fool!”

One television channel said it decided to get the contents confirmed from White House sources because of the “abrasive language”.

According to another channel, President Erdogan threw the letter into the trash can immediately after going through it.
