KARACHI, Aug 5: An activist of Muttahida Qaumi Movement was shot dead in Orangi Town early on Friday morning. Police said that Muhammad Nasir, 28, was shot dead by unknown persons near Meat Market in the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police post in Orangi Town. Police said that Nasir suffered a bullet wound in the eye, causing his instant death. His body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem examination.
The victim was an electrician by profession and was an active member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement. The deceased was a resident of Sector 15-C.
Following the incident, tension prevailed in the whole area. Shops and other businesses remained closed till Friday evening.
In Kharadar, a man was shot dead by his cousin over a petty issue early on Friday morning.
Police said that Rehman Badshah, 50, was shot dead by his cousin identified as Akbar Badshah. Both the cousins were watchmen in Moosa Market in the old city area.
ACCIDENT: A young man died in a hit-and-run accident on Mauripur Road on Friday.
Police said that Muhammad Ahmed, 35, was on his motorcycle when an unknown vehicle knocked him down. He was taken to the Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
