KARAK: A college student was shot dead in Mangerkhel area of Ghundi Mir Khankhel union council in the limits of Sabirabad police station.

Police sources said that Sajid Ameen, a second year student, was shot dead by his rivals on Wednesday. Police registered the case on the complaint of Mohammad Ameen, the father of the slain student. He nominated Zainullah and Mohammad Faheem in the FIR.

KULI KUTCHERI: The people of Mator and other remote areas of Sabirabad union council have complained about shortage of basic facilities in the region.

Speaking at a khuli kutchehri, they said that the hilly and remote areas were deprived of all kinds of basic facilities including drinking water, electricity, gas and roads.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shah Rukh Ali Khan directed the education department to provide all facilities to the schools in the area. He said that other problems faced by the people would also be resolved on priority basis.

In response to the demands of the people, the deputy commissioner directed the communication and works department to launch work on the road project. He also assured the local people that district administration would resolve their issues without any delay.

Mr Khan also directed the district education officers, both male and female, to provide furniture and solar panels to the primary schools in the area.
