Another dengue patient dies

KARACHI: Another dengue fever patient died in the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi taking the death toll from this mosquito-borne disease to 14 since Jan 1, 2019.

The JPMC executive director, Dr Seemin Jamali, confirmed the death of 25-year-old Shahzad, resident of Landhi, who died due to dengue-related complications in the hospital.

He was taken to the JPMC a few days ago with high-grade fever and he tested dengue positive.

A total of 14 people have died from dengue fever in Karachi this year so far.

This year, a total of 3,976 dengue cases have been detected in Sindh so far; out of which 3,747 were from Karachi and 229 from other districts.
