LAHORE: The Punjab chapter of the PPP has demanded Prime Minister Imran Khan should resign from his office as one after another scandal involving ruling PTI leaders is surfacing.

“As per his promise that he will resign if leaders of his party are found involved in corruption and malpractices while in the government, the prime minister should go home because scandals involving federal and provincial ministers are surfacing almost on a daily basis,” PPP information secretary Hassan Murtaza said here on Monday.

Citing examples of alleged misuse of authority by the PTI ministers, Murtaza said Punjab minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan had been found involved in getting marks of his son in an examination illegally enhanced, while federal minister Murad Saeed set a record by “simultaneously appearing in three exams”.

He recalled that Mr Khan had said in his speeches from his container in Islamabad’s D-Chowk during his opposition days that prime minister should be held responsible for corruption in the country.
