Housing for poor

Published September 23, 2019

APROPOS the letter ‘Housing for poor’ (Sept 16). The writer has given good advice to the prime minister’s task force undertaking the gigantic task of constructing five million affordable houses in five years. The task force chief should vet this NGO’s achievements and claims, and if found feasible implement them.

It is not easy to build five million houses in five years. The planners in the task force I am sure have considered the time factor while finalising the construction schedule. Poor planning often has led to failed or stalled projects. This is to be avoided in this project of prime importance to the public.
