KARAK: The landowners locked another government high school here on Saturday, forcibly evicting the teachers and students out of the building, against ‘denial’ of Class-IV jobs.

Meanwhile, sources said the secretary education department had deputed district education officer, Torghar, as inquiry officer to look into the Class-IV appointments in the boys and girls schools across the district.

The landowners locked the government school in Rehmatabad area of Karak tehsil to protest denial of Class-IV recruitments to them as promised by the authorities at the time of the school’s construction.

They said the outsiders had been appointed on the Class-IV posts.

Sources said the secretary education department had stopped further execution on the newly-filled 83 Class-IV posts in different schools of the district.

Two schools have already been closed down

It is pertinent to mention here that landowners had forcibly closed down a government girls high school in Takht-i-Nusrati area on Friday a day after a boys school was locked up over denial of Class-IV appointments.

The landowners came to government girls high school in Jehangeri area after the morning assembly and forced the female teachers and students to leave the building.

They argued that the district education office, Karak, had ignored them in recruitment of Class-IV employees, and had appointed persons from other areas in the school.

On Thursday, the government boys high school, Paloski Banda, was closed down by the landowners over the same issue.

TMA EMPLOYEES PROTEST: The employees of Karak TMA took to the streets the other day to protest against former tehsil nazim for allegedly attacking the tehsil municipal officer and demanded registration of FIR against him.

The protesters led by the employees’ union president Intazar Gul marched to the office of the deputy commissioner where they staged a sit-in.

The protesters were also supported by the all government employees coordination council. They shouted slogans against former tehsil nazim Abdul Wahab.

The employees protest suspended the municipal services to the citizens.

They claimed that the former tehsil nazim had attacked the TMO the other day, but the police had not registered FIR against him.
