Model Rabia Butt is dipping her toes into the small screen world once again with two dramas set to air before the year ends. Images spoke to her to find out more.

"They're both under the same banner for Hum TV; one is directed by Ahsan Talish and the other by Mir Sikander."

According to Butt, the cast of Mujhe Vida Kar include Sajal Aly Ahad Raza Mir, Adnan Siddiqui, Mira Sethi, Natty and others.

"The cast is amazing and it was fantastic working with Ahsan. I actually fell in love with the script, it's amazingly written by Farhat Ishtiaq."

The other project also has an amazing story that persuaded her to get on board the project and seriously pursue acting, says Butt. "I'm not one of those people who work a lot; I always work with breaks."

"To begin with, I was not ever really sure about acting, whether it was for me or not. Then I did a film [Farooq Mengal's Hijrat] and it took forever. It made me realise that I don't want to pursue acting."

"I took my time to think thoroughly if I really want to do it and kept [saying no] to offers that came my way. But then I got an offer from Hum for Aangan, which i did last year. That was a good experience and I decided right then that I would like to work with Hum again if something comes up because the team was fantastic and women-led."

"There's also a third project in the works, but I'm still considering it because it's not easy to manage flying to Karachi and living there for 20-25 days of the month when I have a home and responsibilities in Lahore. Let's see."

What's the story all about?

"I can't tell you much, but Mujhe Vida Kar is a thriller. The second project [directed by Mir Sikander] is about motherhood — that's all for now."

She added, "But the foremost thing is, I will never pick a character if it’s all about looks; if that is the case then I would rather just stick to my fashion fraternity."

Both dramas are launching tentatively in November.

Adnan Siddiqui should play the role of her father instead of pairing up.
