QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that his government will ensure timely completion of all projects in education and health sectors.

Presiding over a meeting here on Monday, he said that efforts were under way to improve infrastructure and bring important changes in schools and hospitals across Balochistan.

The meeting reviewed the public sector development programme (PSDP) for 2019-20 and took several decisions regarding implementation and monitoring of the programme.

Provincial ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Arif Jan Mohammad Hasni and Zamarak Khan Piralizai, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Education Mohammad Khan Lehri, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Abdul Rehman Buzdar and other officials attended the meeting. Mr Buzdar said that 1,861 development schemes were included in the current PSDP which include 65 ongoing and 1,796 new schemes.

“The government has approved 1,263 new development schemes,” he said, adding that the departments concerned had already issued tenders of various development projects and soon work on these projects would begin.

The chief minister said that Balochistan would enter in a new era of speedy development with the completion of new and ongoing development projects.

He said good management would provide effective help in completing all projects.
