PGF names squad for Japan

LAHORE: The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) on Monday announced a four-member team for the Nomura Cup and a two member team for Hong Kong Junior championship. The Nomura Cup, also titled as the Asia Pacific amateur golf team championship to be held in Narita Golf Club, Tokyo from Sept 20 to 23.

The team includes Vaqas Ahmed, Safdar, Aadil Jehangir and Ali Hayee. The team was picked by a four members selection committee headed by Rai Azizullah and also includes Asad I.A Khan, Zulifqar Rana and Mehmood Aziz as members.

The team was selected on the basis of the results of trials held recently in Karachi.

PGF secretary Taimur Hassan will accompany the team as non-playing captain.

The Hong Kong junior golf championship will be held on Aug 11 and 12 and Pakistan will be represented by Daniyal Aziz and Hamza Amin.

Manager of the team will be Asad I .A Khan.
