Green belts

Published September 12, 2019

ALL major thoroughfares are supposed to have green belts on the sides as well as traffic medians. Unfortunately, in Karachi, with the exception of one or two roads and some stretches of roads in DHA, these so-called green belts are barren and used by sanitary staff to deposit mud from their daily sweeping.

In my daily commute to office I use the Karsaz road and there is one such green belt which is a respite for sore eyes. The green belt on Karsaz Road from National Stadium Flyover till Sharea Faisal Bridge is an example. This oasis is fully green with grass and plants and is maintained with proper care.

This is what the city authorities and Sindh government should create all over the city.
