We already knew that in upcoming *Zard Bahar* - now titled *Ruswai* - but now we know more about the female protagonist in the drama.

Speaking to Images, Javed opened up about her character, Dr. Samira and what it was like playing her.

"Dr. Samira is a very headstrong woman and knows what she wants to do in life. She's very confident and makes sure to take a stand for what’s right and raise her voice, be it for herself or anyone else. She is very close to her family but is the closest to her father. It's a happy family."

While Sana couldn't reveal much about the plot of the drama, she did reveal that she "is fighting for her rights and whatever she thinks is right throughout the project. She is adamant about doing what's right."

"The character is very impactful. I like to think of myself as a strong person but playing this character actually gave me so much strength and courage. That's how she is. And that is the message she will give viewers. That don't impose anything on women that they don't want, be they your daughter, sister, wife or friend."

She went on to say, "[A woman] is usually not fighting for the wrong thing but her right and that shouldn't be taken away because her hope and confidence will die inside. And if something bad happens to a woman in our society it should not be made into a taboo and treated like it was her fault. She didn't do something wrong, something wrong was done unto her."

"If a woman is fighting for her rights, she is not the bad person. The bad person is the one trying to take her rights away."

Preach Sana!

About her experience working on the drama, the actor said, "It was amazing, the cast and crew were all just so amazing. I had a great time. It's just that the character was so intense that it was mentally draining and almost disturbing for me. We all have put in our blood, sweat and tears in this project but it was one great experience."

Earlier, Mikaal Zulfiqar - who will be playing Captain Salman in the drama - had mentioned that "the issue of watta-satta is also there. There are 2-3 issues in this play that arise."

While there is no official release date, Sana speculates that Ruswai is "going on air this month, around 25th September."
