KARAK: Thousands of mineworkers of Karak district have not been registered with the Employees Old Age Benefit Institution, thus depriving them of compensation in case of injury or death at the workplace.

This was stated by coordinator of Pakistan Workers Federation Shaukat Ali Anjum while talking to mediapersons here on Monday. He pointed out that thousands of workers of district Karak were not registered with EOBI, because of which, they had been deprived of the facilities being offered by the institution to the workers.

He demanded of the relevant authorities to get the workers registered with EOBI as early as possible so that the poor labourers could get compensation in case of meeting an eventuality at the workplace.
