KARACHI: World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Senior Instructor Michael Alan Renney said that Pakistan coaches are highly talented and if they are properly groomed then they can help Pakistan establish a side that would be counted among top teams of the world.

On the second day of the ongoing Softball Asia Pakistan Clinic at Karachi Gymkhana, Renney along with Malaysian coaches Hanifa Muhammad Hamid and Noor Hajr conducted sessions where they trained coaches about ball hitting, base running, game strategy, bunting, sliding and how to hold group discussions during a game.

Renney praised Softball Federation of Pakistan (SFP) for hosting the ongoing Softball Asia Pakistan Clinic in a befitting manner and added that he has rarely seen a coaching event managed so impressively in his extensive 35-year career during which he has visited 52 countries.

SFP hosted reception ceremony in honor of Renney on the second day of the Softball Asia Pakistan Coaching Clinic. On the occasion, Renney said that he wants to impart his skills and experience to young coaches of Pakistan, who are immensely talented.

“If these young coaches of Pakistan are properly groomed then I believe will be able to help Pakistan establish a team that will be counted among the top teams of the world,” he said.

Renney also praised people of Karachi for their hospitality as well as their culinary arts. He said he also enjoyed visiting the shopping malls. He added that he would love to come again to Pakistan if he gets a chance in future.

SFP Chairperson Tehmina Asif, President Haider Khan Lehri, Secretary Asif Azeem, Vice President Mohammad Zeeshan Merchant, Humaira Mughal and provincial association officials were also present on the occasion.

Lehri praised Renney and said that his endeavors to train Pakistan coaches with his immense experience will prove to be highly beneficial for Pakistan. Zeeshan and Asif presented Renney with SFP souvenir.
