RAWALPINDI: Commissioner Saqib Zafar has expressed displeasure over state of cleanliness at the offices of the District Education Authority and Directorate of Colleges on Murree Road on Sunday.

He visited the offices as the government wanted to preserve the old building on Murree Road under ‘Glorious Rawalpindi’ campaign.

However, he found garbage and waste littered in the building. He gave a week’s time to improve cleanliness in the building, adding that how could the department educate students about cleanliness when it itself did not implement it.

Meanwhile, the commissioner asked the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) to start work on preserving old buildings on the main roads of the city. The government shortlisted some buildings to improve their outlook and illuminate them in the evening.
