I HAVE been trying for the last several months to get my sanctioned load increased in order to install the solar energy system with net metering on my electricity connection.

The solar energy system with net metering is environmental-friendly and beneficial to the public. It allows consumer to export surplus clean energy to neighbours.

According to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) rules, a consumer can install 1.5 times the sanctioned load for solar energy system with net metering.

I have applied for increasing the sanctioned load. However, online complaints at the ministry of power, Roshan Pakistan portal and the PM’s citizens portal, have all been ignored by the Sukkur Electric Power Company (Sepco).

It is disappointing to see such sorry state of Sepco affairs, for the company does not feel the pain of the consumer for its personal gains.

The Minister for Power, Petroleum and Natural Resources Omar Ayub should take action on this indifference of Sepco officials.
