LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday held a flag-hoisting ceremony to mark the Independence Day.

Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan hoisted the flag along with senior puisne judge Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh and other judges of the high court.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Justice Khan paid tribute to Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, poet Allama Iqbal and their companions for their struggle for the creation of Pakistan. He said the elders of the country had laid their lives for the independence being enjoyed by the nation. He urged the youth to follow the path and principles of Jinnah.

The chief justice also acknowledged the sacrifices of Kashmiri Muslims for independence and against the atrocities of India.
