Public library

A LIBRAY plays an important role in a student’s life. Not only does it provide a student with knowledge of the subject being studied at college or university, it also provides an individual access to other creative avenues, history, philosophy and comic books.

Keeping this in mind, I started going to the public library in Astore a few months ago. I spent around three to four hours there every day but feel that overtime the place has changed from the hub of knowledge to a tea room.

The space which should be used for educational pursuits is being utilised by the district authorities.

I hope someone looks into the matter and while they are at it, update the library’s stock of books as well. Most of the books here are outdated and their reference system is ancient. It is time to bring our local library into the 21st century.
