QUETTA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Wednesday registered the first information report (FIR) against unknown attackers over a bomb blast in the Eastern Bypass area that killed three people and injured 18 on Tuesday night.

Unidentified attackers planted the explosive device on a bicycle, parked it at the Sher Jan stop and then detonated it by remote control.

The Deputy Inspector General of police, Abdul Razzaq Cheema, said the CTD, bomb disposal squad and law enforcement agencies had collected evidence from the crime scene and were investigating the incident.

“An improvised explosive device weighing more than two kilograms was fitted to a bicycle, which the attackers parked outside a pharmacy and detonated it,” Mr Cheema said.
