ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) said on Sunday that it is taking measures to elevate the performance of its law wing.

In an official statement, the CDA said: “Working pattern in the law wing is being streamlined to maximise its output.”

All directorates of the authority have been directed to provide information on court cases pertaining to them as soon as possible.

Instructions have also been issued to the law wing to ensure the timely submission of para-wise comments so cases pending in court can be pursued effectively and efficiently.

In this context, all formations have been told to ensure proper coordination with the law wing in preparation of consolidated para-wise comments.

The entry of unauthorised people, including litigants, has also been banned in the law wing to avoid the breach of official secrecy, the statement said.

Lawyers on the CDA pool have been divided into categories based on their qualifications and work experience. Cases to all lawyers will be assigned on the basis of their financial worth.

The wing has also been directed to prepare a list of lawyers who are not actively pursuing cases assigned to them or who have performed unsatisfactorily so action can be taken accordingly.

The law wing has been directed to dispose of cases in which legal opinion is sought within a week so cases of the public involving legal opinions can be disposed off as soon as possible.
