SWABI: All the required facilities would be provided to the students of Gajju Medical College Swabi, which is striving to provide quality education to the pupils.

This was promised by Dr Nausherwan Burki and Dr Syed Farooq Jamil, health secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during a visit to the college on Saturday.

Dr Faseeh-uz-Zaman, the college’s principal and chief executive of Bacha Khan Hospital, academic and other staff were present on the occasion.

Dr Zaman gave a detailed briefing to the two officials about the college’s establishment and the facilities available to the students. They were also briefed about the admission process.

The visiting officials inspected all the departments of the Bacha Khan Hospital and the medical college.

It is to mention here that the male students have long been demanding to have their own hostel because at present they are living in a public sector hospital building.

The girls students are staying in a building of the Bacha Khan Hospital.

MAN KILLED: A man was killed allegedly by his in-laws over a domestic issue in Gulbahar area of Maini union council on Saturday.

Registering an FIR in Topi city police station, wife of the slain, Muzahir Shah, told police that she had left her home along with four children three months ago over strained relations with her husband, and was living with her brothers.

However, she said her brothers, Niaz Ali and Sher Umer, often clashed with her and also beat her children, forcing her to return to her husband’s house without the consent of her brothers. After my return, my brothers threatened my husband of dire consequences.

The police registered FIR and started investigation.

10 INJURED ON ROAD: Ten persons were injured when a van and a passenger coach collided near Swabi interchange on Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway on Saturday, police said.

The injured were shifted to Bacha Khan Hospital and Rural Health Centre, Kunda. Some of the passengers were in critical condition.
