ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will resume on July 23 hearing of the video leaks controversy involving accountability court judge Mohammad Arshad Malik.

A three-judge bench, headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Umar Ata Bandial, will take up the matter.

At the last hearing on July 16, the bench had postponed the proceedings tentatively to July 23 so that Attorney General Anwar Mansoor, who was on a general adjournment till July 19 because of his preoccupation at the International Court of Justice in the Indian spy case, could personally appear and assist the court on diverse issues raised in three different petitions instituted by Ishtiaq Ahmed Mirza, Advocate Sohail Akhtar and Tariq Asad.

Judge Arshad Malik had already been removed by the Islamabad High Court on July 12 over the scandal following weeklong consultations, including with the Supreme Court.
