I FEEL disgusted when I see sewage water overflowing on main roads and pedestrian paths. People feel the government is to blame for it. They are correct to an extent but it is not entirely the government’s fault.

On many occasions it has been found it is the sweepers who block the sewerage line on purpose to earn money. Gutter water gets mixed with water supply lines. This causes various diseases. I suffered from typhoid last year owing to dirty water being supplied in the area.

Many cases of diarrhoea are reported daily. At least 20 to 28 per cent of deaths in Karachi occur because of contaminated water.
