PEKING: Air Marshal Nur Khan, a member of President’s Council of Administration, was given an enthusiastic welcome by a large crowd of drum-beating and flag-waving people on his arrival here this afternoon [July 12] for a six-day visit to the People’s Republic of China.

Prime Minister Chou En-lai himself came to the Peking airport to receive the Air Marshal, who has come here at the invitation of the Chinese Government. Observers here described this as a special gesture by the Chinese leader towards Pakistan which underlines the important nature of its relations with Islamabad. — Agency

[Meanwhile, as reported by an agency in Dacca,] The Director of Inspection, Central Board of Revenue, today [July 12] categorically said that the time for filing excess income declaration would not be extended beyond July 15. He was talking to the members of the East Pakistan Income Tax Bar Association on the announcement for filing such returns under Martial Law Regulation No. 32.

Calling upon the assessees to take advantage of the time limit, the Director said, the whole thing had been simplified to the advantage of the tax-payees.
