KARACHI, Jan 14: Nine ships including two carrying vehicles and trucks are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was moderate where five ships, Hyundai Future, Rosa-M and HSH Kusu to unload and load containers, Sibi to offload general cargo and Andhika Adhidaya to offload tallow were berthed after the sailing of six.

The departing ships, were led by Jamila, X-Press Dhaulagiri, MSC Argentina, Hyundai Future, Wind Song, and Aegis, while Mildburg, Kythnos, PONL Everst, MSC Rosa-M, and Kota Salam are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Berth occupancy at the Bulk Oil Pier fell to 33 per cent owing slow arrival of oil tankers, but was maintained at 58 per cent on the dry berths.

Owing to lesser handling of liquid cargo, the total tonnage handled was light at 52,336 tons comprising 12,900 tons of export cargo including 8,200 tons of molasses and 39,436 tons of import cargo.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Golden Gate, with crude oil, Themera to load molasses, Trade Fast, Bombay Star, Lanka Mahapola, Bunga Bidara, to unload and load containers, Astro Venus, Nine Hawk, with vehicles, and Blue Moon, with general cargo.
