PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party leader Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Friday said the provincial government had wasted public funds on ‘useless and controversial’ projects.

Addressing a public meeting in Matta union council of Shabqadar on Friday, he insisted that the general public, particularly traders, was facing the consequences of the poor governance and bad economic policies of the incumbent government, according to a statement issued here.

Sikandar Sherpao said the government had increased the prices of electricity, gas and CNG which had compounded the miseries of the people. He said such steps would further erode the purchasing power of common man.

The QWP leader said the reports of the Provincial Inspection Team, Project Management Unit and Auditor General of Pakistan had exposed irregularities in the so-called mega Bus Rapid Transit project.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government could not honour a single election commitment.
