ISLAMABAD: A sub-inspector of operation wing and his son were booked for jubilatory fire at the marriage ceremony of the latter, sources told Dawn.

So far no arrest has been made, they added.

Earlier, the residents of the G-9/2 informed the police about massive firing in the air and use of fire crackers at a marriage ceremony of the police official’s son.

When police patrolling team reached there the violators had left the scene.

The residents of the area informed the police that prohibited bore weapons were used in the firing.

Besides, fireworks were also continued for more than half an hour.

Later, the police left the place without arresting anyone. Karachi Company Police has registered a case.

Spokesman for the police said the SI was posted at Sabzi Mandi police station and after registration of the case he and his son disappeared. Police teams are searching for them.
