LAHORE: The University of Education (UoE) stood at the sixth position based on the research output produced during the year 2018 in the Nature Index Annual (Ranking) Tables for 2019.

The ranking was recently published listing 37 Pakistani higher education institutions.

It is important to note that the same ranking tables issued in 2016 had 27 Pakistani higher education institutions listed and the University of Education was not among them. The Nature Index (www.natureindex.com), for its unique ranking, tracks 82 of the most prestigious journals publishing highly selective research in the subjects categorized as Natural Sciences (that includes Life Sciences, Chemistry, Physical Sciences, Earth Sciences and Environmental Sciences) and records the institutions with which authors of the published articles are affiliated.

It derives an Index by considering an institution’s top quality research output as a proportion of its total research output in these areas of the Natural Sciences and ranks Academic Institutions globally as well as regionally on the basis of that Index taking into account the previous year’s research contributions.
