KOHAT: Speakers at a one-day workshop for eradication of deadly polio disease have stressed the need for educating people about the importance and efficacy of polio drops for the healthy growth of their children. They informed the participants, including elders of the area, parents, teachers, traders and other people, that the ingredients of the polio vaccine were hazard-free and immensely necessary for the children to protect them from permanent disability.

The workshop was held at the tehsil headquarters hospital which was addressed by district health officer Dr Syed Sameen Jan, polio focal person Dr Ahmed Amin, Tayyabur Rehman and district supervisor vaccination Haji Abdur Rehman.

Dr Ahmed in his speech said that it was the national duty of all of them to remove all the reservations of the people about the vaccine. He said that anti-polio vaccination campaign had to be made successful at all costs and they should reach out refusal cases to save their future generation from disability.

He said that the polio drops were guarantor of safe and healthy growth of the children.
