On World Refugee Day, Mahira Khan has joined hands with UNHCR yet again to create awareness about Pakistan's Afghan refugees.

Uploading a series of tweets and videos, Mahira stressed how Afghan refugees are people just like us, only they're victims of displacement and terrorism.

She also uploaded a video adding that we as a nation have created a home for these refugees in our homeland.

"Refugees are victims of war and terrorism, they have suffered hardship, loss and displacement," she said.

The video also features short interviews of Afghan refugees living in Pakistan as well as short clips of actor Yasir Hussain and UNHCR representative in Pakistan, Ruvendrini Menikdiwela.

@M. Emad totally agree. We do actually give citizenship to refugeesin some cases. I read about a Syrian girl who was so proud to have her green Pakistani passport and couldnt understand why many Pakistanis who go abroad want to get foreign citizenship. She was a refugee and understood more than anybody else loyalty. She even votes in our elections although she has relocated abroad since. I was very proud to read about her.

All children of Afghan refugees born in Pakistan should be automatically entitled to Pakistani nationality. All Afghan refugees, as well as our sweet Bengalis who have spent over 20 years in Pakistan, should also be given Pakistani nationality!

@M. Emad sure, I agree to some extent about law-abiding and hard-working Afghan refugees but on the question of Muslim Rohingya, your motherland, Bangladesh, should step up and do the same for ALL Muslim refugees fleeing Myanmar.

@Tanvir Khan Mr. Tanvir Khan, What about the stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh waiting for 48 years to come to Pakistan? Are they non-muslims? They are more loyal and patriotic than me, you and other Pakistanis.

@Laila Ms. Laila, The stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh are more loyal and patriotic than me and you. The Pakistanis have pain for others but not for Pakistanis. What the people we are. Sad, very sad.
