QUETTA: Provincial Income Tax Commissioner Sahabzada Abdul Mateen has warned that action would be taken against non-filers for not paying their taxes once the amnesty scheme deadline ends.

Speaking to members of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) on Thursday, he termed the amnesty scheme a unique opportunely for non-filers to declare their hidden assests.

He briefed the members about the amnesty scheme in detail and said that people should benefit from the scheme and regularise their properties by paying taxes.

QCCI president Jumma Khan Badezai, senior vice president Salahuddin Khilji, leading businessman Haji Abdul Wadood Achakzai and other members attended the meeting. The provincial tax commissioner while replying to a question said that the current amnesty scheme would be a unique change for non-filers and so people should be made aware of the benefits of declaration of assets.
