HYDERABAD: The Decentralisation Committee, West Pakistan, will, submit its final report to the Provincial Government by September this year. This was disclosed here today [June 8] by Mr Justice Fazale Akbar, Chairman, Decentralisation Committee, while talking to newsmen on the conclusion of the Committee’s three-day session. ... The Committee during its stay in Hyderabad met all the former members of the National and Provincial Assemblies and a cross-section of the people representing all shades of opinion, besides the regional and divisional heads and the Divisional Commissioner, Hyderabad.

The Committee gave a special interview to Nawab Jam Sadiq Ali, a former Central Parliamentary Secretary, who explained the difficulties and problems faced by the people of this area supporting his arguments with facts and figures. Nawab Jam Sadiq All strongly advocated for inclusion of Karachi in Hyderabad and Khairpur region in the new decentralised administrative set up in the province and said that the people of Sind cannot afford to do away with Karachi with which they are associated culturally, historically and emotionally. He suggested that Karachi should be made headquarters of the Lieutenant-Governor.
