15 suspects arrested

ISLAMABAD: The police have arrested 15 suspects from various areas of the city and recovered stolen bikes, narcotics, liquor and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said on Friday.

Following the directions of Islamabad IGP Mohammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan and DIG (Operations) Waqaruddin Syed, all officials of Islamabad police have accelerated their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.

According to details, Banigala police arrested a man and recovered a Klashnikov along with ammunition from him.

Koral police arrested two suspects and recovered Klashnikov, one 32 bore revolver along with ammunition from their possession.

Karachi Company police arrested three suspects and recovered two 30 bore pistols along with ammunition and 10 liter liquor from their possession.

Ramna and Koral police recovered two 30 bore pistol while Sihala police recovered one Klashnikov and arrested three persons.

Bhara Kahu police recovered 230 gram hashish and Tarnol police arrested recovered one 30 bore pistol apprehended two persons.

Shahzad Town recovered one 30 bore pistol and Nilor police recovered stolen bike and arrested two persons.

Cases have been registered against the arrested persons and further investigation is underway from them.

DIG Islamabad Waqaruddin Syed has appreciated the performance and directed all police officials for high vigilance and monitoring against those involved in anti-social activities. He said it is the collective responsibility of every person of the society to remain alert against those involved in criminal activities in their surroundings and inform police for action against them.
