Banks profit rates

KARACHI, July 20: Habib Bank AG Zurich has announced two per cent rate of return for their depositors for six months ending in June 2005, says a press release. The bank has announced the following rates of return on term deposits: one month 1.25pc; three months 1.5pc; six months 2pc; one year 2.5pc; two years 3pc; three years 3.5 per cent; four years 4.25 per cent and five years 5pc.

DAWOOD BANK: Dawood Bank has announced one per cent to 3.5 per cent return on saving deposits depending upon the volume of the deposits for January-June 2005.

The bank has announced the following rates of return on its term deposits: one year 5pc; two years 5.25pc; three year 5.5pc; four year 6pc; and five year 7pc.

FIRST WOMEN BANK: First Women Bank has offered 0.5 per cent to 2.75 per cent return on saving deposits depending upon the volume of the deposits during January-June 2005.

The bank has announced the following rates of return on fixed term deposits: three months 2.25pc; six months 2.5pc; one year 3pc; two year 3.5pc; three years 4pc; four years 4.5pc and five years 5pc.

METROPLITAN BANK: Metropolitan Bank has handed out three per cent return on saving deposits during six months ending in June this year.

It has offered the following rates of return on term deposits: One month 1.25pc; three months 2pc; six months 2.25pc; one year 3pc; two years 3.5pc; three years 4pc; four years 4.5 pc and five years 5pc.

UNION BANK: Union Bank has announced 0.10 to 7.0 per cent return for its depositors depending upon the volume of the deposits for six months ending in June 2005. The unusually high return of 7.0 per cent is for those institutional depositors whose balances are above Rs500 million.

The bank has announced the following rates of return on its fixed term deposits: three months 5pc; six months 6.5pc and one year 7pc. But these rates of return are for deposits mobilized under Munafa (Profit) Maximum Scheme.

Under the bank’s Mahana (Monthly) Income Scheme, the rates of return on three month, six month and one year term deposits are 4.5pc; 6pc and 6.5pc.
