KARACHI, Jan 13: A faith-healer was found murdered in Mauripur on Sunday.

The police said that the body of the faith-healer, identified as Karachi Wala Baba, aged 65, was lying behind the shrine of Sarmast in the bushes. His hands and legs were tied, and he was tortured by the assailants.

A duty officer at Mauripur police station said that there was a Urs in progress at the Mazar, and some visitors had informed the police about the body.

The police said that the faith-healer might have been killed somewhere else and his body was dumped near the shrine.

The body was sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem, the police added. Sources at the hospital said that the man was throttled to death.

An unidentified young man was found dead at a deserted place in Korangi Industrial Area.

The police said that the man, who was in his mid-30s, was hanged to death and his hands were tied behind the back. The body was found at a deserted place near Taj Mohammed Gabol Goth in Sector 9.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem, the police said.
