LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Lahore, on Sunday announced that it had postponed English compulsory FA/FSc Part-I paper scheduled to be held on Monday (today). The paper would now be held on June 4 (Tuesday).

The BISE spokesman said the paper of English compulsory FA and FSc Part-I scheduled to be held on May 27 (today) had been postponed “due to some unavoidable circumstances” and it would be held on June 4.

As many as 200,000 students had to appear in the examination and the Punjab Government announced local holiday in Lahore on Monday in connection with the visit of China’s vice president.

Exam will now be held on June 4

The police department had also written to BISE Lahore chairman Prof Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail for cancelling the examination due to security reasons on Youm-i-Ali. There are 20 examination centres on the route of the procession in the city.

The BISE controller of examination had earlier refused to cancel the paper but as the government announced a local holiday on May 27, it rescheduled the FA/FSc paper.

Earlier, the BISE had issued a press release stating, “Chairman board of intermediate and secondary education Lahore Prof Ch Muhammad Ismail has said the board office will remain open on May 27 (Monday) despite being a local holiday. Similarly, the intermediate part-1 paper of English (compulsory) will also be held according to the date sheet.”

He also asked the students to reach their respective exam centres half an hour before time to avoid any difficulty.
