UPPER DIR/TIMERGARA: Four people, two women among them, were killed and 10 others were injured when a passenger van fell into a ravine in Gawaldi area of Kohistan valley in Upper Dir district on Saturday.

Police said the vehicle was going to Gawadi from Patrak. They said as the vehicle reached Wach Khwar, the driver lost control over the wheel.

As a result, it skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge, killing four persons on the spot and injuring 10 others. The victims also included a boy.

The injured were shifted to Patrak hospital. Two of the victims were identified as Khawar Bibi and Niaz Mena.

In Lower Dir, a young bodybuilder was killed in a road accident on Saturday.

Numan Khan, a resident of Rabat, was going home before Iftar, when he lost control on his motorcycle that hit a roadside rock. He was referred to a hospital in Peshawar but succumbed there.
