KOHAT: Over 50 policemen have been deputed in the merged Darra Adamkhel tehsil of Kohat district and stationed at the army’s Eagle Fort in Akhorwal area on temporary basis.

Police PRO Fazal Naeem said that so far four cases of different nature were reported by the tribesmen and four accused had been put behind bars. However, he said that the cases of Darra Adamkhel were registered at the KDA township police station in Kohat and DSP Sanobar Khan headed the affairs of the tribal tehsil.

He said that Kohat district had allotted 18 policemen from its force whereas the remaining 32 were inducted from Khasadar and Levies forces. He said that so far no SHO had been appointed and the DSP was looking after the area. He added that the police went to Darra Adamkhel for investigations and patrolling from Kohat and the Eagle Fort.

Meanwhile, the district administration directed the health staff of rural health centre, Ustarzai, to ensure vaccination of patients in snake and dog bite cases. The people have been demanding availability of the vaccines due to rising number of dog bite cases in Ustarzai town to save lives of the victims.

Deputy commissioner Matiullah sent additional assistant commissioner Tahir Ali to the RHC who after checking the stock of medicines found the said vaccines missing. He ordered the DHO to provide vaccines to the hospital to ensure timely treatment of the patients.

The civil society took out a procession under the banner of Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was led by its vice-president Azmat Jameel Bangash. The president of all businessmen alliance Saifullah Bangash, minority leader Qaiser Naz and others also spoke to the participants at Shah Faisal Gate.
