LAHORE, July 18: Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi presided over on Monday a meeting of ministers and legislators and discussed with them matters concerning local elections. It is said that a decision on nazims and naib nazims of union councils has been taken while councillors will also be decided soon. Differences between party leaders at various places and adjustments with the PPP-Patriots also came under discussion.

Defence Production Minister Habibullah Warraich, provincial ministers Aslam Iqbal, Abdul Aleem Khan, Senator Kamil Ali Agha and former nazim Mian Amer were also present.

The chief minister said the ruling party was in a position to face all challenges and its reorganization was being carried out.

He said the PML was trying to strengthen parliamentary democracy and democratic institutions and promote national integrity.

He asked the ministers and legislators to play their role in expediting the process of development.
