CTD official dismissed, another demoted

KARACHI: Two officials of police’s Counter-Terrorism Department were dismissed and demoted from their services on corruption charges on Friday.

Inspector Zahid Panhwar, SHO of CTD Sukkur, was dismissed from service for harassing a hotel owner in Gambat, Khairpur district, and demanding Rs50,000, said CTD DIG Abdullah Sheikh.

Another inspector, Mun­ium Larik, of the STIG Cell, CTD Karachi, was demoted from inspector to sub-inspector for registering a false FIR, added Mr Sheikh.
